UK - financial advisory (pro-bono) to a 372 kWp run-of-river hydroelectric project

Project Garvie was a proposed 372 kWp run-of-river hydroelectric project in the West of Scotland. The site was close to the grid, with a 33kV power line located within 1 mile of the site, and a grid connection agreement is in place with SSE.

The project design characteristics included a 55.5m drop from intake to turbine and a 720m penstock length with a mean flow of 596 l/sec. The 35-39% load factor was forecast to generate 1,165-1,221 MWh/p.a.

As part of its SME support, greenCrowd provided pro-bono financial and technical assistance to the sponsor in developing the project. This included financial modelling, marketing support, and targeted introductions to family offices, early-stage investors, and project finance providers.
